The sixth day of December and the second Sunday in Advent.
One of our family traditions, of which there are quite a few, is the taking out of the Christmas books which are carefully stored away after each festive season. We have accumulated a number of these over the years.
THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (Clement C. Moore) is a particular favourite, this copy
is illustrated by Christian Birmingham, who has done the most beautiful illustrations.
One of my favourites is LUCY AND TOM'S CHRISTMAS (Shirley Hughes), again I think it is the illustrations that make it so lovely, which child would not want to live in Lucy and Tom's world..
This book A PUKEKO IN A PONGA TREE (Kingi M. Ihaka) was sent to Freya from a friend in New Zealand when she was a baby. It puts a different cultural twist on Christmas.

FARMYARD TALES CHRISTMAS (Heather Amery & Stephen Cartwright) is a favourite of Clemmie's as she likes to lift the flaps..
