BUTTONS, BUTTONS AND MORE BUTTONS....

A friend has just popped around with this bag of buttons from her mother that she thought I would be able to use (can I ever!).....

There were some real gems in the bag...

Also this old eyelet kit...
(I thought Dura-bac was a head lice solution !)

Hebe has spent the last hour sorting the buttons into little bowls, to do what with I do not know, it always makes me smile when I see one of the children doing something I remember so vividly doing as a child.  I loved sorting out my Grandies buttons which were kept in beautiful old chocolate boxes.....

  1. I've found some loose ones rather like the coloured circle ones you have on card - you've helpsed me get a dater for them, I think!

I love this collection, and the image of Hebe sorting them. I've been sorting buttons in a French charity shop this afternoon, 'helped' by a tiny little African boy who adopted me, as sorting buttons looked more fun than choosing clothes with his mummy! I think Hebe might have been more help, as this little chap was only one...
