world book night 2013 giveaway

World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees tens of thousands of passionate volunteers gift specially chosen and printed books in their communities to share their love of reading. World Book Night is celebrated on April 23. In 2013 it is being celebrated in the UK, Ireland and the USA.
World Book Night is about giving books and encouraging reading in those who don’t regularly do so. But it is also about more than that: it’s about people, communities and connections, about reaching out to others and touching lives in the simplest of ways, through the sharing of stories

For the second year running I have been lucky enough to be chosen as a 'giver', I have received 20 copies of the book below to gift in my community.

I have gifted my books to a range of people; parents at school, teachers, the girl in the hairdressers, lady in the cafe etc

Now I would like to gift my last three copies to people in the blogging community. If you would like a copy of the above title, please leave a comment on my blog, if more than three people comment I will pull names from at hat.

If you would like more details about World book night or are interested in registering as a 'giver' next year, you can find all the information on the world book night website.

Happy reading.

  2. This is definitely a new concept to me, what a shame that it is such a well kept secret. Books are the foundation of life and we should all be taking part in this wonderful event. Thank you for the weblink to register for next year, it is such a great idea and I will better informed for next year. I have not read this book, so will be overjoyed to receive a copy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful event with us. Hannapat.

  3. I didn't really know what it involved - lovely idea. And, yes please, I'd love a book if there's still one going. I love reading and haven't read this one. Thanks! Juliex

  4. What a great idea! and well done you for taking part. I had never heard of it, but it's brilliant! I have heard of a movement whereby there is a sticker on a book saying 'pass it on'. You pick it up, read it, and then leave it somewhere, like in a train or a park bench or in mcdonalds or whatever. Don't think that is very wellknown either as I have never found one like that yet! Don't worry including me in the draw, I would hate to take the prize away from the three above who are by now doubtlessly are counting their chickens! :-)
