Butterfly buns, or do you call them fairy cakes ? , I think that there may be a bit of a North/South divide over the name ? , definitely butterfly buns in our Northern household. I think butterfly buns were probably one of the first cakes I made as a child and they are still a firm favourite. Sometimes you just need a bit of nostalgia.
I used to make those too, and we always called them Butterfly cakes.
